How are you supposed to know the domain of a function?
Like, if the domain is all real numbers or positive #s. For example, f(x)=3x is all real #s. And g(x)=x^1/4 is all nonnegative reals #s. How do you figure this out? Do you substitute of # or something?

- 3x is always real ..notice no matter what values(positive or negative) u put into x u get a positive or negative answer but for x^1/4 cannot accept any negative number since it is the fourth root which is similar to sq root in that sense that it can accept only positive real numbers.
