How can I develop a db-driven website in ASP.NET without buying db server software? Can someone tell me how to re-create the ASPNETDB database either in SQL Express or SQL Server? I have Visual Web Developer and I'm developing remotely to a third-party web host. I've set up the standard ASP.NET 2.0 Login and CreateUser pages. They were working before with a SQL Express copy of aspnetdb. I don't know how aspnetdb got set up; I think my web host helped me put the database out there. Today I came back from vacation and the log in was crashing with a DB error. I didn't save the error, so I can't tell you what it was. Then I deleted the aspnetdb file from the App_Data folder thinking it would be re-created when I created a new user. That didn't happen and now I don't know how to get the aspnetdb created again. I can't find where MSDN discusses this at all. Can someone please give me a link to that info and maybe I could figure this out myself? If not, can some tell me how to re-create the aspnetdb database either in SQL Express or SQL Server?

I need a way to schedule my code to access the database every 5 minutes. I have some VB.Net and ASP.Net under my belt but not enough to feel comfortable telling the bosses that what they want to do is good or bad. Stores this in a database table. We have an in house support log that we use to track customers calls and other info. This also uses an Access database. They want to redo the in house support app, vb6 to vb.net however they want it to remain in house and connect to a SQL database (yeah). If I make an Access Database how would I make it work with the internet? If I made a basic access database which was capable of being used as the database for a forum/message board. What would I have to do to A: get it on the web, B, link up a website to the database, C: anything else I should know? databases in my web host? hi, i,m new to data bases and i,m just a little confused, i,m going to build a database for my site which is already online, using ms access, but whilst looking in my webhost, i noticed a facitly called my SQL database, does this mean that my webhost has already built a database that i can use, or do i still have to build my own in access, which i upload to the facilty SQL . my data base will only be used for collecting clients details, and will also issue a password and user name allowing the client to enter my site, i,m just finding it confusing as to why my webhost has this facilty, or is it just the server that the database needs to work. thanks to anyone who can answer this for me Regards G Morris

how to set up my forum? Okay, so I got a domain from GoDaddy and I got Abyss Web Server X1. I put the phpbb files in my htdocs for Abyss Web server. And I got zone edit to redirect the domain to the abyss to the local host. I also requested to change the nameservers for the domain to the nameservers zone edit gave me. should i wait for the nameservers to change then set up my forum. am i doing sumthing wrong? should i cahnge something? or redo the steps? btw, when i type in my website it still says coming soon my domain is http://officialpspcenter.com btw somebody else told me to get SQL adminitrator and now i got that. what should i do with that?

Creating a Website and using MYSql? I'm not sure how this works so this may make no sense. If you create a website and just want something simple using MySQL. Do you copy up the database along with your code to your hosting server or do you need to have it recreated on the hosting server? I know my host has SQL support, which is extra and i'm on a budget, but for MySQL does it copy up and you just reference the database in the Web code to point to it?

If I make an Access Database how would I make it work with the internet? If I made a basic access database which was capable of being used as the database for a forum/message board. What would I have to do to A: get it on the web, B, link up a website to the database, C: anything else I should know? All the databases I use at the moment are SQL with PHP and they're mainly for ready made scripts...though I have done a little LITTLE bit of PHP programming (forgotten it all now though). I assume i'd have to learn a bit of ASP for my idea to work? Also from what i'm aware i'd have to sign up for windows hosting to put it online (i'm not creating my own window's web server).

Looking for simple new install instructions for 2003 R2? Got 3 250 gb drives: C is for OS and programs, E (2 mirrored) is for data. Email and web site hosted by ISP (tel ADSL). Want simple Domain for user logon. SQL 2005 to be loaded. To be used to share application data (client/server). Previous experience 98, XP, NT4.0. Using D-Link router mostly running defaults. Looking for bare bones setup. Nothing fancy. Confused by all the server roles and new terms.
