Now its automatically taken by this company (http://www.chestertonholdings.com). Is there away to get it back ?
Why most domain names are not available anymore_? Is there some kind of regulation to stop companies from buying thousands of domain names, and selling them thousands of dollars. ex: yourmoney.net is worth $47.800 a couple of years was at $9 per year? howtocatchaflyblindfolded.com is available I guess digital warlords havent spotted that.
How did the first domain names get purchased? I'm interested in looking at how the first domain names got purchased. In the beginning, did websites like www.cars.com get purchased for $8? Was every name available from the beginning, or only a few? If someone could show me a website with this content, that would be great too! Thanks!

After canceling a domain name, how long would it take to be available again? My sister bought a domain name but then she canceled it because web hosting was not included... Anyway, she really wants that domain name and we're wondering how long it would take for that domain to be available again so she can purchase it again under a different plan from a different provider. Does anyone know about this? Thanks for your help!
Is it possible to use Virtuemart to sell domain names? I have a joomla website with Virtuemart installed. I would like to be able to integrate my whois module and Virtuemart. Basically I would like the available domain name and extension, found in the whois module, to be passed to Virtuemart, where it becomes a product. I think the best way is to do this via the url. I have succeeded in redirecting the whois module to the product page in Virtuemart. I basically need to know how to take the available domain name from the url and display it in the custom attribute field in the Virtuemart product flypage. Does anyone know how to do it, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
What is the process of acquiring expired domain names? When a domain expires, what happens next? Does it go into a pending deletion phase, and then is up for grabs? I want a domain that expired June 16th of this year. Before contacting the former owner (who could capitalize on the fact that someone wants something he controls) I want to know how long until I could just register the domain directly. Also, are there ways of getting on a waiting list, for when a domain becomes available? Thanks in advance
when will a domain name become available? i want a certain domain name which is taken but says this Registered on: 12-May-2007 Renewal date: 12-May-2009 so surely if they'd renewed it it would say, so i'm presuming they haven't, just wondering when it will become available again? and do you think i should pursue a different domain name or wait for this one to see if it's been renewed or not?
Will deleting my entire yahoo account make a domain name available again..? I've recently experienced some frustrating issues with managing my yahoo domain and web hosting services. I'm not sure how I did it.. but I accidently deleted my web hosting plan. Then I ended up canceling my domain name because I thought it would take affect immediately (meaning it would be available for purchase again within a short period of time so I could get it on another yahoo account). After I canceled all this, I found that it would take until 2012 until my domain name expired, so even though I canceled my rights to it, unless I reactivate it.. I will not be able to use it at all. Basically, I was wondering what would happen if I delete this entire yahoo! account- would that make the domain name available for purchase again? Or, if I were to reactivate the domain name, is there any way I can transfer it to another yahoo account? Sorry if this is confusing.. Answers are greeeeattly appreciated.
Domain names based on number of characters? Does anyone know of a website where it's possible to check for available domains, based on numbers of characters, so for example I could do a search for all remaining domains available with 4 characters? Useless to one person - Invaluable to another I guess. I want to set up a website, I want a short domain, 5 or 6 characters, doesn't have to be a real word, as long as it can be spoken. This facility, if it exists, seemed the best way to find such a thing.
What is the cheapest domain registration available? Hi, want to register a domain name or a few. Want no strings attached domain name registration. Please bear in mind that cheap is below $5 per year., more on the $3 side. I have registered domains for that money before but these deals come and go. Thanks! www.dot.tk is a crap thing it is a /tk domain there are lot of strings attached and you do not even own the domain. So, bad answer. I need a .com site I own.
Can I buy domain names to keep them from be used? I was doing very well with web advertising until my comp secured an amazing domain name. Is it possible for me to buy any/all available similar domain names to either keep them out of the hands of other competitors or (better yet) find a way to utilize these names to my advantage. ex: Set up a dummy site with the new name and direct them automatically to my existing site. Where is the cheapest place to get a domain? And what can I expect to pay in maintenance fees once securing these domains?
APlus.net. Scam or Professional. Are domain names being stolen from customers? Our business partner has gone to APlus.net to register domain names. The site informs him that the names are available, he pays, prints his receipt. Then, sometimes days later, he gets a strange email that the Domain names are not available. We have investigated this and found that some of the domain names, that were available, were supposedly registered in 1998, etc. a) Is anyone else having trouble like this with APLus.net Their own rep said that it is virtually impossible for names to come up as AVAILABLE when they are not. Thus, for my business partner to have this happen numerous times, something seems fishy, based on our experiences and proof. The web must have integrity and this can only be done by forcing more honesty onto firms who put money before honesty. It is possible that there are people on the INSIDE who work together, and that the owners of APlus.net do not know about this, but APlus.net is caught in another lie also. Google it...
what is an illegal domain name regarding trademark? I have registered domain names for an upcoming release of a product. The release has been known for quite some time and surprisingly, the domains were available. I would like to know if there are certain domains that are illegal, if I'm planning to offer a service related to the products trademarked name. what if i'm not using something like ipod.com but something like ipodservicecenter, ipod magazine, or ipoddrives.com(s) now, if they've trade marked ipod musical cinema - can i get ipodmusicalcinema.com ?
