What is a web hosting service? Is there an objective hosting review site out there? I am looking for a web hosting service to host a website for a business that will be quite MySQL heavy. I've been searching for review wesbites, but they all seem so unprofessional and have very different rankings from each other. I get the sense that a lot of them are sponsored and biased. What are the best web hosting companies (no spammers please)? I have Dreamhost now. They are pretty good, but I was wondering if there was anything better. Feel free to link to sites that review web hosters also. *It needs to be around 20 dollars a month (I pay 7 bucks a month for Dreamhost). *PHP, MySQL, etc the whole gamut I need. *It need to have a good way to upgrade. Meaning it can start off slow, but if I pick up more traffic, I can pay more to easily upgrade my bandwidth, etc. So yeah give your thoughts, please no spammers with referral links. Advice and suggestions on web hosting companies? I've been looking for a webhost to host 3 different sties I have under 1 plan. I don't need a dedicated server or anything big and fancy (yet). I use Yahoo now for one of my sites but they don't support hosting multiple domains on one plan. That is a must for me. So far I'm considering BlueHost, DreamHost, and IPowerWeb. Any thoughts on them? Are there any other hosts I should consider? Are there any good web hosting catalogs with user reviews? web hosting service: does it even really matter which one? I'm working on finding a new web hosting service for my site, and I have no idea which one really to go to. I already have the domain registered and up on my current server, I need to transfer it to the new one. From there I'm going to update the website. There's a variety of features I'm adding, like pod casts and accepting credit cards, but it doesn't seem like you need anything really specific from a server for that if you use pay pal and just inbed a music player script or something. Right now I really don't know who to go with, I'm thinking yahoo because they're a solid company, they're more expensive but I honestly just hate those companies that do the sponsored reviews or whatever. Does anyone know any other companies with a lot of users that has been around for a while that seems pretty solid? Where Can I find a Web Host with Good Customer Service for MySQL Users? I need a Web Host that provides good telephone customer service by people who actually know what they're talking about when it comes to SQL, htaccess files and the like. My current provider has reasonable basic customer service for everyday users but they are worse than useless when it comes to more complicated problems. They literally will not let me (or any customer) talk directly with the few people (their off-limit "techs") who know anything about these topics. I know there are many reviews of Web hosts online, but the problem is there are so many that I don't know who to trust or where to begin looking for a new host. cheap web/email hosting ? Hi all, paying a small fortune for 3 domains with 1 hosting package which just does not get used. So looking for somewhere to transfer my 3 domains over too, each one has 1 email address with it, one is my main domain and has about 5 email accounts, webspace I just dont need as the domains are forwarding url's. so just need somewhere which can keep my domains registered but also offers email hosting... The only one I can find is fasthosts, but they seem to get really bad reviews, though all of them I looked at so far seem to also!
